Once again thank you for a very timely update – what would I do without your blog??
I hope that the First Family enjoyed their downtime and that they ignored ALL the haters who do not want them to even get a day of vacation. We are lucky to have The Obamas as our First Family during this period of multiple national challenges.
Ps. I hope that when you load the photos of the end of this vacation you do not forget to focus the attention on Ms Malia Obama’s reaction. In one of the transfer photos from the motorcade into Marine One, you see her holding her father very tight and almost pulling him back. President Obama has said on multiple occassions that his children are very senstive and kind and in that photo, I felt as though Ms Malia Obama was trying to hold on to the family time and vacation and as though she is protecting her father from the challenges that await him. Later the President consols her with a tender kiss
It is a joy to see the family complete again. Welcome home Malia we missed seeing you with your family. I hope your exerience at camp was enjoyable and a great time to remember.
The elderly veterans words, the conviction and emotions he spoke with really touched me. Yes I am tearing up. I wish the POTUS and his family the best. Thanks again for this blog, I certainly would not see this sort of thing on tv. ❤
I am very sorry to learn of the accident that one member of President Obama’s security team suffered as Air Force One departed Cape Cod. I will definitely keep this honorable public servant and his family in my prayers and hoping for his speedy recovery. I hope that he and his family know that many people in this country and abroad extremely value the service they are rendering to the nation, the President and his family and for all of us as they work to keep them safe
Cape Cod Times: A Secret Service agent was injured when he fell off a ladder shortly after Air Force One took off following the First Family’s brief stop-over this morning on Cape Cod.
According to witnesses, the man was on the roof of a white van parked on the tarmac at Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod. He was part of a security team keeping surveillance on the area using binoculars.
After Air Force One departed at 10:10 a.m. the man started to climb down a ladder that was leaning against the van. The ladder tilted, causing the agent to fall backwards onto the ground.
A handful of other security personnel made a beeline to help the agent, who was eventually seen sitting up and moving his limbs. The man, who is a Uniformed Division officer, was taken to Falmouth Hospital by ambulance where he was treated and released, according to Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan.
Very glad to hear that the security person is going to be OK. Mr. Duggan’s joy expressed over meeting the President and Flotus is so touching, I also experienced tears, of joy. Elderly people always have a special place in my heart, their gentleness and wisdom almost always stands out to me. I wish our culture took better care of them, and looked upon them with greater esteem.

Well, we must also remember that she was also away from him and the rest of her family for 4 weeks and she is probably feeling more clingy than usual.

Oh yes I agree, poor guy.
Phew, he’s fine!
