    Watched the election video.. it still gives me chills to watch the never-ending voting lines. I still can’t believe he won this thing!! I got a very big lump in my throat and shed just a few tears of continual joy. Oh Happy Day!!!

    chipstics –

    Thought you might like this poem. It could have been written by President Obama. (It’s okay to feature it if you like; I’m a copyright holder.)

    One With Every Man
    by Robert Darrell Moris

    I am one with every man whose fatherhood is blighted
    with isolation and overwork to build a business,
    but not to grow a home.
    I am one with every son who has grown up
    feeling it is more pleasant to be anywhere
    but home.
    I am one with every mother who finds no joy
    in her little ones and is “sick and tired”
    of family.
    I am one with parents who weep bitter tears
    of shame as they watch, helpless and afraid,
    the twisting, choking forces they cannot control
    killing the lives of their children
    so full of joy and of promise.

    I know where the cross is a living thing
    where the suffering is beyond belief
    Where love is cruelly nailed to prejudice
    and brokenness and fear.
    The cross is in homes, throughout
    the land.
    We feed the body well, and starve its life.
    Social rubbish we feed ourselves,
    Stinking garbage from the back doors of a
    sick society:
    Murder on the television;
    Cheap fantasy at the movies;
    Catastrophe in the morning paper;
    Morbid gossip, corrupting rumor.

    I see the starving soul:
    Some lean and weary, some bloated and inert –
    shells – without passion for life, or
    hate of evil.
    I see them mate and hatch others like themselves
    and cradle them in nestless nakedness,
    reared in bondage to wishes and to dreams,
    Shifty-eyed, grasping, thirsty, weeping in their
    desert search,
    A never-ending Sunday afternoon drive that
    starts at home and goes nowhere.

    One with these, I share their sorrows;
    sick of their infections,
    I wonder
    Where is the doctor for the family?
    Where is the treatment for these troubled roots of
    Who will turn the course so that home need no
    longer be
    The tool of hell, but
    An instrument of heaven?
