more fox balance

Fox News has always claimed to be fair and balanced, but that’s a tough position to take when you’re funding Republican campaigns.

News Corp. — the parent company of Fox News — just donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association, an official organization campaigning against Democrats all over the country this fall.

It’s one thing to echo Republican talking points and hire Sarah Palin for political “analysis.” It’s another thing to cut those Republicans a seven-figure check to fund their attack ads and robo-calls.

The only way we’ll be able to stand up to News Corp. is if we all chip in and stand together — to put hard-hitting ads online and on TV, train the very best volunteers, and organize in every city of every state. But all this costs money, and we need you to help.

Please donate $5 or more today to help Organizing for America’s work across the country and fight back against Fox News-funded Republicans

From protecting all we’ve achieved together to keeping America moving in the right direction, we are well aware of the stakes in this election.

So is Fox.

Their $1 million check will go to support the campaigns of candidates who fought the President’s agenda. This is money that will help candidates who support the repeal of historic health insurance reform.

And these funds will underwrite politicians who hammered President Obama over the Recovery Act and then happily attended ribbon-cuttings for local projects funded by it.

The sheer size of this contribution to a partisan political organization is unbelievable.

But what they can do with that cash is nothing compared to what this movement has been able to achieve together. We have always invested in real, grassroots, on-the-ground organizing — and that’s where our focus will remain. Because we’ve seen it work time and again.

Together, we’ve defeated those who put profits over people, talking points over the truth, and corporate cash over anything else.

And we’ll do it again with your help.
