It is so good that she doesn’t have any idea about all the so call uproar about her and her Mother being in Spain. It doesn’t bother me one bit that they are in Spain, Mrs. Obama is not the first First Lady to travel like this, but these haters acts as if she is. If it didn’t bother them when Laura Bush and her twins ran all over the world, then back off of this Firs Lady!!!!!!!

Anniebella, I was just thinking today after reading some of the comments of our disgruntled Americans about Mrs. Obama’s vacations. Perhaps some of these people are not parents or maybe they are. Last year Mrs. Obama spend part of her vacation in Paris and she revisited the Queen with her daughter(s). Sometimes your children come up with the darnest ways to say, “you like her better than me.” I have 3 sons and we always had to make sure we were careful to let each one know we loved him equally. My youngest son was constantly vying for our undivided attention. Each child needs those special times with each parent, separately. Malia is away at camp…have fun Malia. Now Sasha is away on a nice trip with mom. Sunday, she was at the basketball game with dad. She is being treated special too. I applaud parents who can try to keep an equal playing field with their children–its not easy. These two young girls have a very unique experience. Their father is the President of the United States and he is also their Dad. Mrs. Obama has often said, I am a Mom first. Who really cares what anybody else says, they are parents first and what Mrs. Obama is doing is making sure Sasha enjoys her summer vacation as well as Malia. My personal opinion is that most of the grumbling is jealousy. Those children live in a museum, These parents are just making sure that they grow up individually but yet together and sanely. Well, that’s my rant for today. It just ticks me off to see people do this to our First Family–but it will continue for the next 6 years. Sometimes I just want to scream, Leave Them Alone. They are our First Family!!!! Respect their decisions as family.

@graciouslady…I agree with you. They are living in a museum. Where all privacy is gone. Where people who don’t even know you are criticizing you about every part of your life. Yes you have alot, but you give up alot too. But I know the First Lady must have know that some people were going to criticize her for this trip. She knows how these people are. And the media is just as bad. But I hope Michelle and Sasha are having a wonderful trip.

Anniebella Have you noticed the media takes the smallest occasion happening at the White House and turns it into a major story. The captions hardly ever match the articles, i.e., “Home Alone-President spends birthday alone while his family vacations out of town”. Then you read the article and it doesn’t match the “attention grabbing” captions. I don’t ever remember the media following former President Bush this way. Or may because I wasn’t interested in what he did. I don’t know. I do remember them (the media, not Congress, so much) trying to impeach former President Clinton. I think that was a matter totally between Clinton and his wife to resolve–maybe not the lying; but what married man, caught cheating, doesn’t lie. The media has gotton so good at making up the news until I don’t know what to believe, since I’m not a member of the Tea Party and I have a mind of my own.

Every chance I have, I have spoken up on behalf of the First Lady, because I think they are going way overboard with this vacation the First Lady is having in Spain. I feel like it’s the right wingnuts focusing on this and the media are playing right along with them. Other First Ladies have taken trips and it cost the taxpayers, but how dare this woman go on a vacation. The trip doesn’t bother me at all. I hope the First Lady and Sasha are enjoying themselves. I just wish the President and Malia could have been with them. People said it’s about the cost, I say if you didn’t complain when Bush and her twins, or Hillary and Chelsea travel all over the world, well I don’t want to hear their mouth now.

I think it comes down to the haters not believing black folks should live like this, or that blacks should even think that it’s within their possibilities to live this way, to participate in the Dream. Who do we think we are, after all? It must be hard work for the haters to turn a blind eye to the highly intelligent, beautiful and loving virtues of this black family living in “their” White House. They fail to see how God is truly blessing America. They need to be careful because God will not be mocked.
