Wednesday was Tai Shan’s last day at the zoo before being shipped to the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center in China. He was born at the zoo in 2005. Under a deal between China and the U.S. , all giant pandas originally from China are only on loan to foreign zoos and any cubs they produce must all return to China eventually.
